Why it works this way
A list of links stops being about the links the moment placement is sold once and stays sold. The top of the page becomes whoever paid first, the page stops being worth reading, and nobody notices until it is dead.
So placement here is priced in the only thing it actually costs: attention. A listing at the top burns fastest, because the top is where the clicks land. Hold it as long as it is worth holding. Stop being worth the traffic and you fall — no editor, no algorithm, no appeal.
One direction of money
Nobody is paid out. There is no revenue share, no affiliate arrangement, and nothing of ours runs on anyone else's site. We host the board, we sell years, and we deliver visits. What a payment buys is delivery; a position is a side effect of what you have left.
That leaves exactly one incentive: keep the board worth visiting. A board nobody reads delivers nothing, and years nobody spends are worth nothing.
Who runs it
Highlander is built and operated by Hauke Jung in Kirchzarten, Germany. It is a small operation on purpose — one board, one rule. The imprint has the formal details, and the terms say the rest; the service is offered to businesses only.
